Hello!
My name is Kayla Fisk and you have stumbled upon my bird blog! I will start by first telling you a little about myself and then about what you can expect to see posted here.
I am an artist from Central New York that mainly draws in colored pencil but I will from time to time paint with watercolors and acrylics. As an artist my work was always revolved around animals of all kinds, but as time went by and my love of birds grew it became more and more focused on them. One thing that has really influenced my art has been volunteering for 10 years at a federally and state licenced wildlife rehabilitator. With a focus on birds of prey and other birds, it really gave me a great chance to see many species up close.
This blog will cover anything and everything birds, with topics for everyone, from backyard birder to ornithologist. Topics from sightings, recent discoveries, conservation, biology and behaviors. I will also include other things like sketches and art completed and in progress. Birds are on every continent and come in so many different shapes and sizes with such a variety of unique adaptions. There is so much out there to learn and discover, I hope throughout my posts that your love and admiration of these unique group of species grows.
Again, welcome and I hope you enjoy my bird ramblings and art,
