Kayla Fisk is an artist/jewelry maker based in Central New York. As soon as she was legally allowed to volunteer she began volunteering at a local wildlife rehabilitation center and is still volunteering there more than 10 years later. This opportunity has let her see many species up close and personal including many species of songbirds and birds of prey.
Now currently a state and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitator, this has given her a glimpes of some of the threats that birds face everyday and seeing the disconnect that most people have from even their local bird species. From this insight and hearing of the decline in so many bird species today, and other threats to birds globally has inspired her missions to help birds by bringing awareness to the incredible biodiversity in the world of birds and the issues facing them today.
